NURSE MANAGER- LABOR AND DELIVERY- SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, FULL TIME


POSITION SUMMARY
Provides professional nursing care to Labor & Delivery, Post-Partum and Nursery patients, utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. care provided is based on the ages of the population served; Neonate, Adolescent and Young Adult (18-44) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served. Posseses strong communication and organizational skills. Provides leadership and supervision of clinical nursing and ancillary staff. Coordinates clinical activities, ensuring safety of patients and staff. Assists the Director of Acute and Respiratory Services with human resource functions, event investigation, inspection of practice and coaching to established departmental standards, coordinates training and ensures staff competencies and assists assigned lead nurse as needed to establish safe staffing levels. Ensures ongoing monitoring of departmental indicators and PI activities; reports activities as directed.
MINIMUM EDUCATION
o Completion of an accredited Nursing Program. Bachelors Degree required, Masters degree preferred

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
o Minimum two years of Obstetric and Nursery experience required
o Minimum two years recent supervisory experience preferred
o Sufficient computer skills as are required to complete an online application and pre-employment/ annual required training including experience in electronic spreadsheets, word processing and report writing
o Ability to analyze and interpret departmental quality and patient safety reports
o In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred

CERTIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
o Current California RN license or ability to obtain prior to start date
o Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date
o Current NRP certification within 6 months of hire or earliest offering through Barton University
o NCC Inpatient Obstetrics Certification
o Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification required
o S.T.A.B.L.E. required
