REGISTERED NURSE- HOME HEALTH/HOSPICE- SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, FULL TIME
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide professional nursing care to home health clients in the privacy of their own home, utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. Services are provided based on the ages of the population served; Adolescent through geriatric - 65 years or older and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team, in accordance with CMS guidelines for Home Health. Demonstrates the knowledge and skill necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Completion of an accredited Nursing program, BSN preferred
Current California RN license or ability to obtain prior to hire date
Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date
Minimum Experience
One year home health and hospice experience preferred
One year of acute care experience in a hospital setting or similar healthcare setting
One year home health and hospice experience preferred
Sufficient computer skills as are required to complete an online application and the pre-employment/annual computer requirements
In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred
Physical Demands
Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking/sitting
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfer patients
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Exposure to stressful environments that may include communicating with difficult individuals in emotional situations
Contact with patients and guests under a wide variety of circumstances
Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
Exposure to infections and contagious diseases
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including the handling of emergency or crisis situations
Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demands
