CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT- LONG TERM CARE, SOUTH LAKE TAHOE
This position requires current CA CNA certification
POSITION SUMMARY
Assists licensed staff in the provision of basic nursing and therapy care in Skilled Nursing, using the application of basic skills, restorative care, utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. Services are provided based on the ages of the population served; Adult through geriatric - 65 years or older and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Demonstrates the skill necessary to meet the needs of all residents served in Skilled Nursing through support of the nursing process; collects resident care data, reports findings, assists team in meeting resident care goals.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Current CA Nursing Assistant Certification or ability to obtain prior to start date
Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program
Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date
Minimum Experience
Previous long term care experience preferred
Experience or speciality training required in vital signs, bed making and resident transfer techniques
Sufficient computer skills as are required to complete an online application and the pre-employment/annual computer requirements
In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred
Physical Demands
Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking/sitting
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfer patients
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Exposure to stressful environments that may include communicating with difficult individuals in emotional situations
Contact with patients and guests under a wide variety of circumstances
Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
Exposure to infections and contagious diseases
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including the handling of emergency or crisis situations
Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demands
