REHAB AIDE- SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, On- Call
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide rehabilitation services (PT, OT & Speech) to patients utilizing established policies and procedures. Assist the physical therapist, occupational therapist and speech therapist in the provision of care utilizing established policies and procedures, ensuring safe and effective care. Services are provided based on the ages of the population served; Children through geriatric - 65 years or older and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and meet the individualized needs of all patients served. Assists team to meet patient treatment goals through positioning, lifting, transferring and, maintaining equipment including cleaning and decontamination.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date
Minimum Experience
Currently enrolled in a healthcare related program/curriculum preferred
Previous computer experience and data base management preferred
Sufficient computer skills as are required to complete an online application and the pre-employment/annual computer requirements
In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred
Physical Demands
Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking/sitting
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfer patients
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Exposure to stressful environments that may include communicating with difficult individuals in emotional situations
Contact with patients and guests under a wide variety of circumstances
Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
Exposure to infections and contagious diseases
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including the handling of emergency or crisis situations
Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demandsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
