DIRECTOR OF PHARMACY- SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Full Time


POSITION SUMMARY
As Staff Pharmacist
Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceutical for patient care.
As part of the interdisciplinary care team, provides quality and cost effective services to patients, employees and medical staff.
Responsible for drug therapy monitoring, distribution of drugs, provision of drug information.
Mentors pharmacy interns.
Participates in departmental and hospital-wide committees and task forces, modeling excellence in communication.
Services are provided based on the ages of the population served; Newborn through geriatric - 65 years or older and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary care team.
As Director of Pharmacy
Provides leadership and supervision to all department staff.
Coordinates department activities, ensuring patients' pharmaceutical needs are safely and effectively met.
Establishes policies, procedures, standards and objectives for the provision of services and coordinates with other departments to provide maximum level of services to patients and hospital staff.
Directs all human resource functions of the department.
Oversees training and ensures staff competencies.
Ensures safe staffing levels.
Develops and manages budget to meet department, organizational and patient safety goals.
Ensures Regulatory Compliance.
Ensures ongoing monitoring of departmental indicators and PI activities; reports activities as directed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education:
PharmD or Master's degree in Pharmacy
Completion of a 5 year accredited pharmacological program

Certifications/Licensure:
Current California RPH license or ability to obtain prior to start date

Minimum
Experience:
Minimum three recent years exp as a Staff Pharmacist in a hospital or healthcare setting
Previous administrative/supervisory experience in a Pharmacy department

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
General knowledge of Human Resource functions including labor laws, recruitment and retention practices and organizational development
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent analytical, logical thinking and problem solving skills.
Sufficient computer skills as are required to complete an online application and pre-employment/annual online learning requirements.
In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English. Bi-lingual abilities preferred.
Physical Demands:
Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing, walking and sitting.
Exposure to stressful environments that may include communicating with difficult individuals in emotional situations.

Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demands.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
