CLINICAL EDUCATOR- SOUTH LAKE TAHOE- Part Time
POSITION SUMMARY
In collaboration and as a liaison to their clinical department director, develops and provides educational programs for staff in specific unit(s), including but not limited to orientation for new hires and new grads, new equipment and technology inservices, new or revised policy/procedure inservices, and annual department specific skills /competencies reviews. Keeps abreast of new developments, research, evidence-based practice and changes in practice related to the mission of their specific unit(s) and educates the staff regarding same using a variety of teaching techniques (poster sessions, mini-inservices, hands-on practice with return demonstration, etc.) Conduct needs assessments, performance and program evaluations with analysis to determine future education subjects and current program effectiveness.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Completion of an accredited Nursing program
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
Current California RN license or ability to obtain prior to hire date
Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association (BLS for the Healthcare Provider) or ability to obtain prior to start date
Minimum Experience
Minimum one year of recent experience nursing experience
Sufficient computer skills are required to complete an online application and the pre-employment annual learning computer requirements
In compliance with patient safety standards, must be able to effectively communicate in English; Bilingual abilities preferred
Physical Demands
Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking/sitting
Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfer patients
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
Exposure to stressful environments that may include communicating with difficult individuals in emotional situations
Contact with patients and guests under a wide variety of circumstances
Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
Exposure to infections and contagious diseases
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including the handling of emergency or crisis situations
Subject to pressure due to irregular hours, frequent interruptions and stressful situations due to multiple demands
